Geelong coach Mark Thompson is expecting a committed Hawthorn side to face his young Cats side at Telstra Dome on Sunday.
Hawthorn are struggling with a record or 1-5.
"If they have got pride, which they certainly have, they are going to want to come out and play well," Thompson said of the embattled Hawks.
"Really, the first quarter will be on and we have to be very aware of that.
"They will be pretty desperate for a win.
"It will all just compound and probably galvanise the group a little bit.
"Any player group of any club, in the same circumstances, would try and jell together a little and play desperate footy."
