New recruit Hayden Ballantyne hopes for an injury-free season next year after managing just seven games this year, which saw the small Fremantle forward miss several games for being suspended.
The mature-aged Ballantyne reckons he can step up to the plate in 2010 and kick more than his nine goals this season, which saw the Dockers struggle to show consistent form.
22-year-old Ballantyne, who kicked 75 goals for WAFL side Peel Thunder last season and took out the Sandover Medal, has stepped up to the plate this season and demonstrated his skills over the weekend when he booted four goals against the Bombers.
The No.21 draft pick said stepping into big league brought new challenges, but he was ready to take them on.
He said he had learned a lot in his first year at Fremantle Football Club and that he has recognised some key aspects of his skills that could take his game the next level next season.
Ballantyne said he needs to develop his defensive pressure and needs to take his fitness to the next level also.
