ESSENDON defender Tayte Pears is likely to miss the remainder of the AFL season, after undergoing surgery on his pancreas following a collision with an opponent on Friday night.
Pears, remarkably, played out the match but the damage was well-known after the game.
The loss will hurt the Bombers, as they seek to rediscover their form after three successive losses.
