Dustin Fletcher had a 300th milestone match he would much rather forget, when his Essendon Bombers went down to the Brisbane Lions on Saturday night at the Gabba and he went off injured.

The defender went into his 300th game with high hopes but was forced off the ground with a suspected broken leg. Scans today revealed the injury was not as bad as they first thought. He suffered a hairline fracture to the fibula, not a full break and is expected to miss 3-4 weeks.

The Bombers who lost to the Lions by 43 points will play the Richmond Tigers in their next match this Saturday afternoon at the MCG.
