The Bombers are hoping to welcome back some big-name players for this week’s crucial clash with the Brisbane Lions.

If the Bombers ever needed to win a game more, it would be this week’s game after they suffered an upset loss to the Eagles at Subiaco on Sunday. The likes of skipper Matthew Llyod, Mark Mcveigh and Alwyn Davey all stand a good chance to return to action against Brisbane, who will also be hungry for a win after starting well against the Magpies but fading out to a disappointing loss.

Veteran defender Dustin Fletcher revealed that all three players will train on Monday morning and at this stage have a strong chance of been available for selection before he added that they’d make a big difference to the team’s balance and possibility of making the finals.

According to Fletcher, this weekend’s game is massive. Nobody will be arguing with him on that one.

Essendon are sitting in 9th position on the ladder meaning another loss this season would make it almost impossible to make the final eight.
