ESSENDON’S Sam Lonergan believes the club can still play finals, despite its recent poor form.
The Bombers have lost four of their past five matches – the latest an 84-point hammering at the hands of Adelaide on Saturday night.
Essendon is two games outside the eight, at 5-9, and face Melbourne and North Melbourne in the next fortnight.
“We’re still pretty confident,” Lonergan said in today’s Herald Sun in Melbourne. “We have got a pretty strong group of players that are striving to play finals football this year.”
