Essendon youngster David Zaharakis is the AFL’s rising star for Round two, after his impressive debut against the Dockers on Sunday.
The 19-year-old accumulated 21 disposals of which seven were inside-50’s - the most by any player on the ground, as he helped the Bombers to an easy 38-point win.
Coach Matthew Knights said the club is especially pleased with his ability to not only win the ball but to make the best decision when it came to disposing it which was highly valuable especially from a youngster.
Essendon selected Zaharakis with pick 23 in the 2008 AFL Draft.
