Essendon skipper James Hird will captain the team for the 100th time next weekend against the Western Bulldogs.
Hird will become the fifth player in the history of the club to do so, joining Dick Reynolds (224 games), Terry Daniher (127 games), Bill Hutchison (122 games) and Jack Clarke (121 games).
