Royals confirm Italiano will miss season

Promising East Perth defender Nic Italiano has been ruled out of the 2008 WAFL season after scans revealed that he had suffered a torn anterior cruciate ligament in the final practice game of the year against East Fremantle last Saturday.
The 22-year-old who made his league debut in 2007 joins fellow Royals’ defender and reigning best and fairest Frank Agostino as sidelined knee victims this year.
Agostino could return midseason after having reconstructive surgery soon after he sustained the torn ACL against South Fremantle in last year’s First Semi-Final.
