Royals announce new numbers

East Perth will kick off their preseason campaign against arch rival West Perth on Saturday night at Medibank Stadium with some new faces and new guernsey numbers in 2008.
Former Royal Jeremy Humm returns to the club and returns to his No. 7 jumper which he won two premiership medallions in with Trevor Batchelor having a season off due to work commitments.
Former Essendon player Joel Reynolds moves into No. 23 which has been left by Chris Vlahov who has moved to Melbourne to pursue work opportunities also.
Former Claremont player Trent Martin joins the club and will wear No. 17 which had been left by Chris Jones.
State Amateur ruckman Michael Robinson joins the club and moves into No. 40 which Bennett Copping leaves behind on his return to South Australia, while Daniel Jones moves from No. 50 into No. 22 which was worn by Llane Spaanderman previously.
State 18s ruckman Michael Dawes will take on the No. 50, while fellow WA junior Luke Sampey will continue to wear No. 28 which he wore at colts level, after it was vacated by Zac Beeck.
Nigel Lee has moved from No. 54 into No. 32, while, Tom Howlett who was the colts competition’s leading goal kicker in 2007 has been allocated No. 43
Other colts graduates with new numbers include Stirling (53), Martin (56), Whitehead (60), Marvelli (61), King (62), Dobson (63) and McGuire (71).
The graduates will be joined by new players joining the club via community clubs in Depane (54), Sutton (55), Stratton (65), Gerrans (66), Devitt (67) and Dujmovic (70).
The Royals’ clash with the Falcons starts at 8pm this Saturday.
