THE EAST Fremantle Football Club is currently looking for someone to fill a high powered position, following the recent departure of Chief Executive Officer Peter Capes.
Mr Capes agreed to part ways with the club after five years of service, as football manager Damien Gaspar and some board members stepped in to temporarily take charge.
East Fremantle Football Director Bill Withers, who is overseeing the search for a new CEO said the club had received plenty of interest for the prominent position.
“The response has been very good, we’ve received some 30 applications, and we’ve already shortlisted eight candidates for the next stage of interviews,†he said.
Of the eight remaining, Mr Withers said the successful candidate must possess a number of stand-out qualities to fit the role.
“We’re looking for someone who not only has a business development focus, and good business management skills, but it’ll certainly help their chances if they have a sports background as well.
“But most importantly though, the ideal person must have a passion for football,†he said.
FootyGoss understands the club will appoint its new CEO within the next fortnight.
