Shane Woewodin is celebrating his first win as a senior coach following East Fremantle’s 13-point upset win over Swan Districts at Steel Blue Oval today.

The Sharks survived a final quarter challenge from the home side and held on to win, 13.15 (93) to 11.14 (80).

West Coast-listed wingman, Tim Houlihan was best on ground for the victors, collecting 36 possessions and received great support from Docker, Andrew Foster.

Brett Staker put in a solid performance, finishing with three goals, while Brett Peake gathered 23 disposals and Theo Adams worked hard to win many clearances throughout the match.

Swan Districts was slow to start, kicking into the wind in the first quarter, and were unable to find the form that had seen them win five of their first six matches.

Captain Adam Lange, midfielder Brett Robinson and the lively Garth Taylor were the best players for Swans.

Umpire Adam Beavis was the centre of attention early in the final quarter when East Fremantle big man, Robert Young cannoned into him.

Beavis lay motionless on the ground following the clash and had to be stretchered from the ground, leaving Luke Farmer and Jeff Dalgleish to officiate the remained of the match.
