East Perth have produced a hard running display at East Fremantle oval today to notch their second win of the season and continue the Sharks’ barren start to the season.

East Fremantle led early in the first quarter but two late goals to Docker’s star forward Chris Tarrant saw East Perth go into the first break one point up.

In the second term the Sharks were firing early with goals to Foster, Teakle and Dunn giving them a handy lead.

However East Perth grabbed the ascendancy half way through the term with half forward Tim Noakes dominating to see his team up by four points at half time.

East Perth took control in the third quarter with hard running and sharp disposal into the forward line so that they led by as much as 25 points at the 26 minute mark.

East Fremantle managed a late goal through Dunn to pull the deficit back to 19 points at the final break.

East Fremantle coach Shane Woewodin issued a stern challenge to dumped Docker’s midfielder Brett Peake who had barely been sighted throughout the first three quarters and asked his team to fight for their season.

However it was East Perth who continued their impressive pressure skills and smooth forward set up to give dominant tall Merrignton a seven goal haul and the team an unassailable lead.

East Fremantle continued to plug away throughout the quarter but they lacked the cohesion, skill and functioning forward line to seriously challenge the Royals who ran out the game well for an impressive 32-point victory.

The Sharks will be hoping for their first win of the season against West Perth next week while the Royals will look their third victory of the season against the much in-form Swans.
