On the eve of Collingwood’s blockbuster match tonight against the unbeaten St Kilda at Etihad Stadium, two of Collingwood’s young stars have re-signed new deals that will keep them at the club for at least the next two years.
Dale Thomas, who is only 21 years of age has re-signed until the end of the 2011 season. The young midfielder was Collingwood’s number 2 selection in the 2005 national draft and made his debut in 2006. He has played 68 games for the Magpies and has missed just the one match so far this year.
Heath Shaw also re-signed a contract that will see him at Collingwood until at least the end of the 2012 season. Shaw started his career at Collingwood in 2006, following in the footsteps of his father who was the captain of the magpies in 1979 and 1980. Shaw has had an interrupted start to the season with injuries but is back in the side to take on St Kilda tonight.
