The AFL has welcomed five overseas players including four Irishmen and a Canadian.
Adelaide has listed Brian Donnelly from County Louth, the Bombers have chosen Michael Quinn from County Longford, North Melbourne has selected Connor Meredith from County Laois, and the fourth AFL club to have included an overseas player on their list are the Sydney Swans who picked up County Tyrone’s Kyle Coney and Canadian rugby international star, Michael Pyke.
The rest of the AFL clubs will be closely monitoring the progress of these players and might also consider digging into the overseas talent.
