Young Magpie Jaxon Barham is Round four’s NAB AFL Rising Star, following his impressive debut against the Lions on Friday night.

As well as making the most tackles (9) on the ground, the 20-year-old had 28 disposals, including six marks, whilst playing on Brisbane star player Luke Power, which is a challenge for the best and most experienced players in the AFL, let alone a first-gamer.

Barham, who was recruited from the Lorne Football Club and the Geelong Falcons played most of the 2008 season in the VFL, but got his chance to play for the Magpies in their win on Friday night, when he was best on ground for the VFL side the weekend before.
