The Magpies have a win on the board after beating Melbourne by 53-points at the MCG on Saturday afternoon.

The Magpies only led by one goal at the half-time break, but managed to skip well ahead of the Demons through forwards John Anthony (four goals) and Alan Didak (three goals).

Collingwood put in a much improved performance from last week’s upset loss to the Crows, while Melbourne are a very young team who are expected to be near the bottom of the ladder this season.
