Carlton’s Chris Yarran is the Round 1 nomination for the 2010 AFL Rising Star Award.
Yarran played a vital role in the Blues’ win over Richmond in the season-opener, gathering 11 possessions to go with his three goals.
Yarran was taken at pick No.6 in the 2008 National Draft, but injuries hampered the 19-year-old’s progress and he played just six games for the season.
Carlton will be hoping the nomination is the beginning of something special.
