Carlton veteran midfielder Nick Stevens has decided to contest a striking charge at the tribunal on Tuesday night, meaning if he loses he’ll miss first three rounds of the AFL season.
Stevens still has to serve a one-game suspension from last season and could have accepted another one-match ban if he had accepted he was found guilty of striking Fremantle’s Nick Suban during Saturday’s practice game.
The Blues play the Tigers in the first AFL match of the season at the MCG on Thursday.
