Carlton youngster Aaron Joseph has been nominated as the NAB AFL Rising Star for round 12 after picking up 19 touches whilst playing on St Kilda’s Stephen Milne a fortnight ago.

Joseph spent last season on the Blues’ rookie list and became known for his close checking whilst playing for the Northern Bullants in the VFL. He was therefore promoted as a nominated rookie before the start of this season and hasn’t missed a game since.

The 19-year-old said that he loves learning about the game and always looks to senior players for advice on how to improve himself out on the field, among them is skipper Chris Judd who has shown him a couple of useful tactics to limit players from using their strengths against him.
