Carlton coach Brett Ratten is set to swing the selection axe following what he described as the worst loss he’s ever been involved in as coach against Essendon last Friday.
Ratten said he expected up to three or four changes as a backlash for the Blues’ second-half calamity, which saw them concede 13 goals to just 2 after half time.
Blues defender Bret Thornton will return against Fremantle on Sunday in place of injured backman Paul Bower.
There is a nervous wait to see who is left behind when the team leaves a day earlier than normal to fly to Perth.
