Carlton coach Brett Ratten is frustrated his team has to travel to Bunbury to play Fremantle in the last NAB Challenge match of the season this weekend.
Among the Blues squad will be captain Chris Judd, goal-kicker Brenden Fevola and midfielder Marc Murphy in a game that Ratten wants to use for a full-dress rehearsal for the mouth-watering seaosn opener against a Richmond side containing Judd’s former Eagles’ teammate and fellow Brownlow medallist, Ben Cousins.
Ratten has criticised the AFL for scheduling the game in regional WA, saying that it was probably the hardest road trip of the NAB Challenge which is made worse by the fact Carlton play the earliest game of the premierhsip season.
