Carlton have had turmoil thrown into their pre season preparations after Irishman Setanta O’hAilpin had what could only be explained as a brain fade in the blues intra-club practice match. The fiery Irishman had an altercation with Cameron Cloke that finished with Cloke on ground as a result of a roundhouse from his team mate. Things got worse when O’hAilpin appeared to attempt to kick Cloke while he was recovering from the earlier blow.
Coach Brett Ratten described his players actions as a “dog act”, and the club has sent Sentanta to anger management, promptly booking him in for an appointment with the club psychologist.
The incident drew all the attention away from the clubs ideal preparations till now, with Captain Chris Judd injury free and full forward Brendan Fevola looking a likely partner in crime as the blues look to surge up the ladder in 2009.
O’hAilpin is unlikely to find himself in any immediate trouble, having been suspended by the club indefinitely.
