The credibility of Carlton’s premier midfielders, including captain Chris Judd have been questioned as accusations emerged they only play one-sided football.

Former Richmond coach Terry Wallace and Hawthorn premiership forward Dermott Brereton raised the issue after the Blues 72-point loss to Adelaide last Sunday.

“Carlton has some midfielders who’ve got to learn how to defend, they only want to play one direction and I’m quite happy to name them. I think Murphy, Scotland, Stevens, Judd - those four guys just don’t defend,” Wallace said on radio SEN.

Brereton added: “Some people say how can you say that about Judd because he’s been so good offensively, but the facts are there. Juddy sometimes doesn’t even know who he’s playing on. He’s so good going one way.”
