Scott West has given up his bid to be ready for the Bulldogs’ final charge in 2008.
West, who has been suffering with knee stress fractures since round six, pulled up sore after playing in the VFL last week and did not line up this week.
West is now 33 and out of contract at season’s end leaving his future in serious doubt.
