The Western Bulldogs are facing numerous obstacles in their bid to beat Geelong on Friday night due to some serious injury concerns.

Skipper Brad Johnson is the first key player to be in doubt for the clash, after he suffered a badly corked thigh when he collided with a goal post during the Bulldogs’ crucial win over the Lions on Saturday night.

In-form midfielder Daniel Cross will face a fight against time after recently having ankle surgery, while Bob Murphy and Sam Reid aren’t a hundred percent fit to play after they suffered a corked thigh and sore leg respectively.

Perhaps the biggest concern for the Dogs will be the health of key defender Tom Williams who allegedly broke his foot after being stepped on during Saturday’s game. Williams will have scans on Monday afternoon to assess the exact state of the injury but at this stage is expected to miss the remaining two games of the regular season.

On a positive note for the Dogs, Ryan Griffen could return to the side after recovering from a hamstring injury. He was on the verge of taking the field against the Lions but was a last minute withdrawal due to hamstring tightness. Shaun Higgins is also expected to play on Friday night after missing three games with a hamstring strain.
