Barry Hall faces the risk of instant expulsion from the Western Bulldogs team should he lose his temper on the football field and face another serious striking charge.
The club has been given AFL approval to insert a special clause into Hall’s two-year contract that would end his playing career should there be a repeat of the Brent Staker or Ben Rutten incidents.
However, AFL official Ken Wood has told the club to re-word the Hall clause to be in line with the player code of conduct in the most recent collective bargaining agreement. The 32-year-old would be sacked if he brought the club or the game into disrepute for an incident on or off the playing arena.
