The Western Bulldogs are confident that Brownlow Medallist Adam Cooney will be fit to play against the Dockers in Sunday’s round one encounter at Subiaco Oval.

Cooney, together with Robert Murphy had knee surgery during the summer break and only had limited match time during the end of the pre-season tournament.

Coach Rodney Eade said both players will be travelling to Perth but so far only Cooney is a certain starter.

Eade said Murphy trained relatively well in Monday’s session, with the club set to make a decision on whether he will play or not after Thursday’s training session.
