New Brisbane coach Michael Voss has told his players to come back after the off-season break fighting fit or face the consequences.
The Lions squad will enjoy a full holiday, unlike other teams such as Melbourne who will resume training just a few weeks after the Grand Final.
Brisbane co-captain, Jonathan Brown, said that Voss was the right man for the job, as he will demand the same sort of dedication he showed in his playing days.
Brown said Voss wanted the players to go and enjoy their break but to make sure they came back in top shape. Brown added that the players would be keen to impress their new coach, even though some of them share a close friendship with him.
Brown explained that a lot of Voss’s close mates at the club had retired, and that he isn’t as close to a lot of the new boys in the team, which will make it easier for him to remain professional.
