Michael Voss is set to become the senoir coach at the Brisbane Lions on Tuesday afternoon.

Rumors within the Lions camp are that the three-time premiership captain is the man for the job following Leigh Matthews un-expected resignation on Monday.

Voss was poised to become an assistant coach with the Eagles in 2009, but following Matthews’ retirement, he asked Eagles cheif executive Trevor Nisbett for permission to talk with the Brisbane camp.

The Lions will find out who their new coach is after a press conference on Tuesday afternoon.

Voss, who has no experience coaching at AFL level, will be supported by a crowd of experienced assistant coaches.
