New Brisbane Lions recruit, forward Brendan Fevola, is poised to take on his old club Carlton in round two of next season in a massive game at the Gabba.
Blues skipper Chris Judd, however, will not play that game as he serves a suspension, which could be a good thing for Bog Bad Fev.
An email circulating around has alleged Fev’s infamous antics on Brownlow night were much worse than had previously been revealed, with allegations he exposed himself and offended his former team-mate Judd’s partner Rebecca Twigley.
FootyGoss has chosen to tone down some of the allegations but in all, Fev’s behaviour was indicative of the sort of bad news Brisbane can come to expect in 2010.
There are allegations that Fev had an altercation with Marc Murphy, as well as with Rebecca Twigley when she tried to restrain him from “attacking a security guardâ€.
It has also come to light that Fev allegedly sexually assaulted a female journalist and was involved in an incident with Gibbsy’s girlfriend which left her in tears.
There is speculation he had the 2IC of the AFL, Adrian Anderson, in a headlock along with James Brayshaw, abused Warren Tredrea, along with other high-standing opposition players and officials, and swore at and abused Judd repeatedly when he attempted to have words to him.
It is also alleged he made some ungentlemanly gestures to Rebecca Twigley as well as to Demetriou’s wife, which might explain why he came out saying Fev had to clean up his act.
Despite all this and the many “incidents†to have preceded it, Big Bad Fev reckons he’ll clean his act up at Brisbane.
According to Fev, he has banned the bottle and has made a vow to his new teammates and the club to earn and keep the trust of those that gave him a career lifeline.
It is after all, Fev’s last chance to finish his controversial career with a premiership.
Fev’s deal was complete on the final day of the AFL exchange period when Carlton agreed to trade the gun forward and draft pick No. 27 for second-year player Lachlan Henderson and Brisbane’s first-round No. 12 draft pick.
In recruiting Fev, Lions coach Michael Voss has staked his own reputation on a player renowned for controversy and misbehaving.
Upon the deal being made official, Fev said: “I have got to earn a lot of trust, especially with Vossie and the coaching staff and the players.â€
“I have just got to be humble and go about business and not be a dickhead and hopefully my footy will do all my talking.â€
But despite all this, FootyGoss understands the Lions have not demanded a total alcohol ban on Fev and have stated it is fine for the former Blues forward to have an occasional drink.
