It was a forgettable performance but one Brendan Fevola will not soon forget.

The reigning Coleman Medallist failed to ignite against the Western Bulldogs in a wet and wild 8-point loss in round 1 of the NAB Cup.

Fevola admits his Brisbane debut was not inspirational, although he kicked the game’s opening goal.

But the bad boy of footy did not score again in the game and finished with just five touches.

Fev did acknowledge however that the wet surface of the ground, soaked by two days of rain, did not help marking forwards.

The former Blues champion, traded in October after The Fevola Effect led team officials to finally get rid of him after mounting off-field misbehaviour, said he was used to Docklands stadium and that it might take some time to realise he’s no longer at Carlton.

Sunday’s opening round preseason cup encounter at Canberra’s Manuka Oval saw only a handful of supporters watch the 1.5.14 (53) to 1.5.6 (45) Bulldogs win.

Fev said the game at times was like going down a slide at Wet’n’Wild.

It’s possible that Brisbane could play a practice match against the Carlton next, as they face the loser of Saturday night’s Sydney-Carlton clash at Blacktown.

But Fev is reportedly set to miss that encounter, instead waiting for his first encounter with his former club to be their Gabba meeting in round 2 of the regular season.
