Fevola trade still no closer

WAYWARD Carlton forward Brendan Fevola is still no closer to finding a new home, as the third day of Trade Week continues.
General Football Operations Manager Steven Icke confirmed a deal to move the reigning Coleman Medallist, who has two years remaining on his contract was far off.
“At this stage there has been no further development. We still haven’t had any contact, so it’s pretty much as it was on Monday,†Icke said.
“We’ve met with clubs and they know our position and at this stage, we’ve had no enquiries.
“Everything you read in the newspapers is exactly how it is at the moment. Collingwood has had some interest, but that’s about as far as it goes at this point in time.â€
Speculation has had Fevola linked to the Sydney Swans, which officially parted with premiership forward Barry Hall on Tuesday.
Icke said he was pleased with an earlier Carlton deal made at Trade Week, but revealed the club was not involved in any other negotiations, other than finding a new home for Fevola.
“We’ve got the Brock McLean deal done, so that’s good that’s out of the way and it allows us to get onto other matters this week.â€
“But right now, that’s the one (Fevola deal) everyone is wanting an update on, but at this stage there is no update,†he said.
