Adelaide coach Neil Craig says it’s only a matter of time before rookie Shaun McKernan will play for the Crows at AFL level.

Shaun McKernan is the younger brother of North Melbourne dual premiership ruckman and Carlton best and fairest winner Corey McKernan.

The 18-year-old has made his SANFL debut and has quickly become a consistent contributor in the South Adelaide line-up.

McKernan earned U-18 All-Australian selection alongside Vic Metro teammates Jack Watts (Melbourne) and Tyrone Vickery (Richmond).

He also impressed at draft camp where he finished second to Nic Naitanui in the standing vertical jump.
