Former basketballer Kurt Tippett has become the first Adelaide player to receive the rising star nomination since 2004 after his four goal haul against Melbourne.
The Queenslander was only introduced to football in 2004 but was picked up in the 2006 draft with Adelaide’s second pick and number 32 overall.
Tippett struggled with injuries last year but has cemented his spot as a forward and ruckman kicking 13 golas so far this season.
