The AFL has released further details on its Hall of Fame tribute match to be held at the MCG on Saturday May 10th.

The two 40-man squads have already been released, this number will be cut to 30 on Sunday May 4th.

Match day teams of 25 will be named on Friday May 9th.

Under the rules for this game, the selection panels have the right to choose from outside the initial squads of 40 that were named earlier this month, when the final 30-man squad selections are made after Round Seven.

Players in each squad have been asked to nominate thier preferred guernsey number and thier second and third choices.

Captains of each side will be given first choice of numbers, then it will come down to games played.

For example, Andrew McLeod is captain of the Dream Team, so he will wear no. 23. this means that Justin Koschitzke who normally also wears 23 will have to use his second choice, and Buddy Franklin who wears no. 23 will also have to use one of his other choices.
