Adelaide have defeated Essendon for the first time ever at the Telstra Dome on Saturday afternoon.

The 19.15 (129) to 10.13 (73) 56-point win has boosted Adelaide’s chances to cement a top four spot in the eight.

The Crows were lifted by the efforts of Scott Thompson with 31 touches and Brad Symes finishing with 26 possessions.

Young Bomber star Paddy Ryder was again impressive for his team and Damien Peverill worked hard all day, but it was the Crows who had more passion for the ball as Tyson Edwards and Brent Reilly lead the way at the stoppages.

Adelaide are on a role with their fourth win in a row and look like going far into September action this season. Essendon will be disappointed they couldn’t celebrate Matthew Lloyd’s 250th game with a win but have a bright 2009 ahead of them.
