Total AFL club membership for the 2008 Premiership season has reached a record high despite the fact there is still two months available to become an official club member.
AFL CEO Andrew Demetriou revealed today that the 16 AFL clubs have already signed more than 538,000 members, breaking last year’s record of 532,697.
“A figure of better than one in 19 Australians is an AFL club member and our clubs have worked incredibly hard to raise total membership numbers by more than eight per cent as against the same time in April last year,” Mr Demetriou said.
