can see up to 5 guys dropping back from the league side for this game.......Fasolo(L), Leslie, Cripps, Horsburgh and Perham.......pretty confident with EP being spread over two games player wise, that EF will get through to the GF......though Claremont didn’t seem to have much problem though!

Good luck to the reserves side, pity about the league but then compared to some other clubs EF seem to be travelling better than a lot of clubs......but hey SF were in a similiar even better position last year and look at them now......totally depthless!

Hope the young Horsburgh fella plays well the Sharks. Just to stick it up the Royals who turfed him off their colts list a couple of years back.

Playing reserves at a weaker club. Sounds like the Royals got it right.

Wrong C-V. The young fella got de-listed because EP have this fondness for ring-in’s from Victoria; Thus, dropping young locals off their list to make room for their success model. And for your info, the young Horsburgh fella has played an even spread of ressies and progressed up to the leage side through application and has stayed there since his elevation. Do us all a favour and think before you type!

Pathetic lack of balance as with most threads on Footygoss hence it’s reputation as a mustering point for the ill informed.  Each WAFL team turns over massive amounts of kids through the Colts system you will always have kids fall through the cracks.  To single out any club would be very short sighted I would think EF would have to weed out more good kids than most.

what ever the story maybe, Horsburgh has been a great find for EF this year......no frills, nothing fancy.....complements those flashier types who often get a lot more kudos.......I know EF lost a few promising types during the Dunbar years.......so it swings in round abouts........

Hey Strono, No offence intended with the weaker club comment but with EP finishing ahead of EF for the last 2 years I think it’s a fair call. It’s great that he got an opportunity to play league at another club and I wish him well.

Swansforever, your post doesn’t warrant a response.

I’m not a East Perth supporter but Swans for Ever, i don’t think you should be having a go at East Perth for their Eastern States recruiting. Wasn’t it a month or two ago that Swans had to ‘rearrange’ their list to get Robinson back on and to keep under the points cap! South, Subi, Swans, Perth, East Perth all go down that path as it is vital. You are not always going to get quality from you colts and if you do they are likely to go to an AFL club. Some players develop at different times and some slip through the net at colts.

From my understanding this Hornsbough has played Amo’s for a few years before joining East Freo. If he was let go due to lack of opportunity another WAFL club would have snapped him up straight away. I would more likely suggest that he is a late bloomer who developed in the amo’s.

Weaker club maybe should be rephrased to weaker league team - as our club has produced many drafts it is hard to compare as a club - just for the record didnt EP league finish wooden spooners in 2007

Fair call Strono. You’re one year out with the spoon comment though. Played finals 2007. List management plays a big part in success. Sometimes you get it right sometimes wrong. Hornsbough may join a list of ex EP players to do well at the Sharks. I think a couple helped you win premierships sometime back smile
