Come on WAFL fans lets get revved up for a big weekend of finals footy. Who will win and why?

Cl V SD
I reckon the tigers will be out to set the record straight and make up for a lame performance against the much harder Royals. At home where in the last game we beat the Swannies (minus Ash Hansen) by 70+ points I think we play a lot better.

A strong side, a spot in the GF it all looks good for me. Tigers by 22pts.

EF V EP
Seeing the Royals first hand last week I would have to go with them. Depends if they bring the same A Game as they did last week though. Maybe that was their final? They look in form to me and would have to start favourites. EP by 28pts

T10, finals time is when it gets physical and the teams that are the most committed to the contest usually come out on top.

I don’t think the Ferrals played their final last week, they’ve been doing it for the last 6 weeks and have massive momentum going into the 1st semi. that being said I don’t think the Tiges were at 100%, you were close most of the day but that was only because the ferral forwards couldn’t hit the side of a barn when shooting at goal, should have won by 5 or 6 goals. The sharks are going ok but could be a bit disrupted with so many AFL blokes coming and going, time will tell.

Ferrals by 19 pts (crowd 4,500)

From what I’ve seen of both clubs, the tiges are clearly the most skilled team in the comp, but Swans may have that physical edge in strength and aggression, they have a few more meatheads like Spandexman, Roberts etc that are happy to run through who or whatever to win the ball or clear the way for the game breakers like krakouer, those sort of whatever it takes type blokes are absolutely vital come finals time. If your beloved Tiges can create enough space for the runners then I think you should win given the forcast at this stage is for fine weather. If you can curb Krakouer’s influence and free up blokes like Brabazon, Blackwell & co then your bigger midfield rotations should get you over the line.

Tigers by 22 pts (crowd 6,000)

Prelim final at Bombo valley SD v EP could get 10+k up there on a fine day!!

2nd Semi we have been getting key players back at the right time and the previous meeting had nothing riding on it so nothing to go on there, much like Claremont had nothing riding on the last game v EP. Im tipping a draw and then SD to win in extra time with a Timmy Geappen helicopter punt to sail through!
1st Semi EF to defy all the tipsters and get up at home by 13 pts. The ferrals to come down after their effort the previous weekend and history shows its difficult for a side bereft of stars to maintain their intensity for what will be 7 straight wins. I know they did it in 78 but the calibre of player in that side was a million miles ahead of what they have now.

I think EF are the ‘dark horse’ in the finals this year… & neither SD nor CL (chokemont) will want to face them in a cut-throat prelim – EF by 9 points – crowd 4,250

SD by 3 points – crowd 5,500 - c above in brackets as to why SD will win…

How do you come to that assumption when EF have been pumped by us and Claremont each time this season?

Claremont to beat swans by 5 goals and EP to beat EF by a similar margin.

Next week EP will beat swans and then go on to beat C’mont in the GF by 17

6000 you reckon! dont know if the ground can hold that many! will be more than happy to be proved wrong but I reckon more like 3500-3900.

Claremont by 4 goals. The sides are even on paper but the home ground advantage will get them over the line.

EF will beat EP. Not sure why so many people are writing EF off they finished 3rd for a reason. Always hard to beat at shark park and are actually in good form themselves.

Not sure about PALMER playing Sunday,HASELBY aparrently not.

For me,it’s too close to call either way.

Reckon SWANS might just get home(10 points) and the same with OLD EASTS but only just - 5 points.

COLTS
EF v C (2nd Semi) - Tiges won the last one and are a great chance.Just hope EAST FREO don’t pay a Terrible Price in Dogging it against PEEL. - OLD EASTS by 1 point

PEEL v SD - Peel are in great form and despite the previous 2 opponents going Missing, they deserve to be Favourites.I don’t think SWANS realise the Risk they took just to get the Ressies up last week.Turning the Form book around is easier said than done sometimes.- PEEL by 9 points

RESERVES
Cv EF (2nd Semi) - Tiges here for me.I think Home Ground may just see them home here. - TIGERS by 15 points

EP v WP (1st Semi) - Both sides carry good recent form into this game and it’s a tough one to call.Perhaps EAST PERTH,but the CARDIES winning wouldn’t surprise.Extra motivation for some in last year’s Grand Final. - ROYALS by 2 points

So,despite my DEEP DEPRESSION and Falling A over T this week,I think I’ll strugge down to MOSS ST this week to see a bit more footy.Looks like things will Tightly Contested everywhere.
