Will be interesting to see what kinda crowd the GF gets this year. Depends a lot on whether its pissing down or not but I reckon there is a good vibe this year and more interest. If you look at the past 10 GF’s it has been:

2009 - SF V Sub 22,738
2008 - Sub V SD 23,199
2007 - Sub V Cl 19,541
2006 - Sub V SF 21,291
2005 - SF V Cl 22,570
2004 - Sub V Cl 21,507
2003 - WP V Sub 17,750
2002 - EP V WP 31,382
2001 - EP V SF 23,842
2000 - EP V EF 30,174

I predict
Claremont Vs Swans - 25,000

Claremont Vs EP - 26,000

Claremont Vs EF - 23,000

Swans Vs EP - 30,000

Swans Vs EF - 24,000

And if you’re gonna post a thread just stick to the figures dont go on about “oh Claremont have 14 supporters so I reckon.....”

Well,if it’s CLAREMONT v SWANS,I predict 25 000.

That includes a thousand more from SHARK PARK if they are possibles to win a 2nd Flag after a COLTS Victory.

Claremont have one if the smallest followings in the league as they will be the main players this year wont break any records.

Cl v Swans ( fine day no AFL finals etc ) 23,000 tops

some other combos-
SD v EP 24,000 chance of the biggest here
C v EF not many supporters either side but EF have been out for a while 22,000
C v EP 22,000
SD v EF 23,000

I reckon those figures would be pretty accurate, no doubting if EP get through, the crowd will be larger than if one of the other teams does.

Grassy, I reckon you might be looking at a split in the Colts and Reserves/League GFs again this year, so a Sat night GF isn’t going to effect the cowd Sunday.

Let’s hope it’s a beautiful, sunny day and people get out and support the WAFL.

EP v SD best crowd and i think they can get 36 000 even it it rains.
The weather will be critical.
If EP dont get through and it rains i think 22 000

36 000 are you kidding no way in the world - if they cracked 30,000 it would be a miracle.

I am pretty sure the Colts GF has been scheduled to be a night game on the Saturday night before the League and Ressies GF on the Sunday at Subi oval like they did last year. From memory its Sept 18 the Saturday and then the GF is on Sunday the 19th.

Not sure why they cant just have all 3 grades on the same day.

Swans need to make the GF if there is any chance of a 25,000+ crowd. But if Swans make it I can’t see it being less than 20,000

Don’t worry WAFL Follower,I reckon OLD EASTS officials might Require the Colts boys to Put things on Hold(a little bit) in case their RESSIES are in a Good position to follow it up.Just making an allowance for that.

The only hope of a 30,000 plus crowd these days would be a derby or WP v EP.

Unfortunately with Claremont making it today the hope of a good GF crowd is out the window,
