Well here we go again 2007 revisited- start falling over towards the end of the season when opposition teams start getting serious, looks like straight sets to me ,there is and always has been this soft underbelly with Claremont hence the name the HANDBAGGERS which has been well and truely earned. Sure you can change the players and the coaches over the decades but the ethos will always remain the same .Good luck you’ll need it!

A little premature at this stage I think FM…lets see what transpires on Sunday 1st…if they fail again, it could start to look very ugly…

Really not much for Cl to play for, only thing that could happen was to get some injuries. The ferrals were super fired up and played with real intensity as you’d expect. I think they will roll the sharks next week, sharks don’t have that same physical edge as the ferrals and that’s what’s needed in finals.
Same happened last season when Joondy got over Subi in the last game to sneak into the finals, one team with everything on the line the other team just marking time. Talk about karma, last year Joondy win to push the Ferrals out, this year vise versa.

For the same reason mentioned above re physical intensity, I think SD have more of it than Cl imo and should get over them in the 2nd semi, then CL will play like we know they can and roll EP in the prelim.

Too early for a GF tip .... just my thoughts, but it would be a great spectacle if Swans did lose this week and get a home prelim, they will be hanging from the rafters up at Bombo valley, easily 10k + weather permitting.

Of the 4 teams remaining I’m hoping Claremont wins the GF but think there’s a strong argument for Swans if Walters, Hansen, Pearce and co get released by the Dorks and Beags...throw in Robinson who I really rate and they’re going to be hard to beat.

Will go for SWANS as I have a soft spot for ‘em.

But if CLAREMONT get up this year,I wouldn’t hold it against them.

You’re about 30 years too late for 2nd Favourites mate.

Every kid at my school barracked for CLAREMONT.So I had t be different.Cripes,it was Hard enough Copping HIDINGS by 10 golas and more from you lot.But if you SWEPT the Flags in the early 80’s,life for this li’l Devil would have been UNBEARABLE.

SWANS were my SALVATION in those days. And then I ADMIRED LEON BAKER even more than I did then.Sorry mate, that’s just the way it is. wink Besides, you must have missed me last line.

You guys would have earned it.We DREAM about 19 wins in 3 years.

Now that would be worth watching - coaches can put Travers and Wolfenden on each other at the opening bounce too just to spark things, spaander and beeck going head to head - flashback to early 80’s WAFL!
