why cant shuey play 4 the royals this weekend even though he has only played 2 games. while silvagne, suban,,fyfe &co. have all played less than 5 wafl games quallify, because the dockers r still playing.look a player like k.bradley if dosnt get select 4 the dockers he doesnt play at all.its a joke
But you know as well as I do that the AFL comes first and whatever it takes to keep The Docker squad members in some sort of match fitness will trump common sense or fairness at WAFL level.
fair enough custodian but u no where i am comming from
There are times when I consider the actions of the AFL clubs as unfair and that they don’t give a toss about the WAFL. They only see it as an opportunity for their players to develop their skills under match conditions and to maintain match fitness. As other posters regularly point out these players belong to their AFL clubs not their WAFL clubs.
Who else among the AFL contingent will be available ?
Like Shuey he hasn’t qualified! It would not surprise if the Eagles send all their players off on their end of season break and only AFL players on the Dockers list play for WAFL clubs this week.
Why should he play he didnt qualify for what ever reason its like a player getting injured and missing the majority of the season and then being fit to play but cant because he didnt qualify fairs fair
I don’t think it’s fair if Shuey plays for us this weekend rules are rules. But with the amount of respect the AFL clubs have for the WAFL anything is possible.
No offence to Shuey but I’d rather one of our up and coming youngsters get a gig over him.
You ripper Royal 1,
Finally some common sense, play your local blokes, its what has turned your season around after all. Wirra, Roe & Lovett have been invaluable to EP this year, not for their impact on the field, but off it !
The best thing that happened was them pissing off,It forced Micales hand to play the local blokes and as mentioned above, that injected the much needed passion and determination that will get you to a Preliminary ! from there, who knows !!!

For me its not so much about giving the young guys a go but giving the guys who got us there a go. It continually annoys me how this happens around finals time that our competition is degraded to let someone in that has not contributed all season.
If you get him then we should have Natanui then!..its a joke, they dont qualify and thats it, i hope the WAFL dont bow to East Perths intimidatory tactics

Agreed SD and I think your fears will be alleviated because surely the Commission will overule EP’s request because that then would set an ugly precedent. Players like Macaulay,Eastwell,Lee and Dobson (all homegrown and play a similar position to Shuey) should definitely be looked at ahead of Shuey. Don’t get me wrong I have nothing against Shuey but I would rather our boys get a call up as they have toiled all year and deserve their chance.
the bottom line is this, luke shuey has not played enough games to qualify to play in the WAFL finals.
thats all there is to it.if he is allowed to play it is an absolute disgrace and makes a farce of having the ruling in the first place.
if he plays then chris masten should be allowed to play for us on sunday.
east perth need to understand the rules cover ALL the 9 clubs.
they are no different to any of the other clubs.
