Think this is going to be an absolute cracker of a game.
After a slow start against Kingsley on the week Hammersley ended up running all over them after quarter time.
College have been nothing short of brilliant this season but this game jhas nothing to do with the rest of the year.
Promises to be a single digit margin and can prob go either way.
My money is on hammersley after their league side bowed out against Maddington a week ago, just strengthening the reserves side.

Hunts i would have to disagree. I watched the prelim and although dont get me wrong you guys were simply too good the cats didnt give much. Watching the Kingsley twos reminded me of games this year at the eagles as their field kicking was abysmal and HC were able to rebound well.

Just dont think HC will be able to match Collegians all over the ground. Too much X factor..

two weeks ago collegians struggled with the defensive pressure the hawks applied but managed to get up by 21 points, with the class under pressure of collegians gettin them over the line. If Hammers were to win its going to be off the half back lines pressure. as i said, it can go either way, and i think it is going to be a lot more closer than some people may think. sure to be a fast paced and physical shoot out. But hey, this time next week we will know and mad monday will be in full swing!

Agree in part what you are saying. I think it will be the closest this year and hardest and fastest. Just dont know how HC could make it a shootout as they have struggled to kick goals (as everyone has) against the Collegians Magoo’s this year. Kicked 6.7 and 4.0 in the two games in the regular season and 5.7 in the second semi…

Games are won and lost on the scoreboard and i cant see them putting enough scoreboard pressure on to worry Collegians.

Hunts,

I heard 11 guys were qualified that played against Maddo in the league.  Is this about right?

Will be interesting to see how things pan out.  No doubt H/C should put more pressure on Collegians with some ins from their league side, but I assume the Collegians side is more settled and played together for more of the season.

From what I remember, pretty similar to 2008 for Hammers.  Made the GF in the ressies and were knocked off by the most consistent side of the year CBC (who also played in the league GF that day).

Yea that would be about right. but in saying that not all of them will play because to change a team that much isn’t the smartest thing to do, it never works out. most of them who will play, played most of the year, some at different times, in the ressies team and are really young. Bit hard on the blokes who are going to miss out and have played the whole year. But not playing together shouldnt be an issue because most of them have played together more than enough.  But yea ur right, very similar situation to a couple of years ago, but i think everyone is a lot closer knit then that year.
Finals are a funny game who knows what will happen

Prediction here is Collegians by about 5-8 goals. I believe it will be a cracker of a contest early on but too much depth at Collegians this year to see them getting done. their backline is tighter than a church choir group.. Too hard to kick goals on them. Not the same experience as the HC boys but they have more pace and have been going three sessions for about 6 weeks in readiness for this..

Must hurt HC not having a colts side and i can only hope it is for one year for their sake. Out of the 22 that played in the second semi, the coach told me that 20 had played colts for the club.. Fair effort.

Collegians will gain a lot from watching their colts go hard at it in the morning. HC wont have this same pre game fire up..

If all of the colts played seniors this year one would have to ask what your senior sides will be like in 5 years without the correct development and nurturing environment a colts team provides. Bundy is a great recruiter if you want him on loan for December/January as he doesn’t offer much on the track pre season. Sleevesy can also help you out if you need and you can look for short sleeve Jimmy in 17 years for a possible pacy midfielder.

Collegians will be to silky for HC, with their running backline lead by moe szyslak should see them come away with the victory. 3 goas the margin and the norm will go to the man in the suit
