Watched the first half of the Swan Ath vs Maddington game. Well done to Maddo for getting up. Think they were bloody hard and well led by the mighty mouse Catalino early on. They will challenge us next week but i cant see them having enough pace to hurt Collegians..

Incident at half time where a spectator through an object at the umpires on the way off was pathetic and for his fellow club mates to be laughing with him shows how uneducated some people are.

He played but wasn’t given a red card against Hammersly, the umpires totally screwed up and gave it to the wrong player on the wrong team? it was thrown out just like the umpire should of been

went and watched maddo v swan ath on the weekend- pretty good game of footy with ath having their chances late in the game to kick clear but maddo hung in and deservedly won!

For maddo- there strength is their physical side of the game( some legal some not) with some big bodies seeming to easily push or scare the ath boys off the footy, thru the midfield they get geat drive from catalaon and white with big wilkes being effectivly a ground level player once he has contested the tap, pace on a wing was left free alot and accordingly chopped up ath…

Up forward big banks always provides a solid contest along with the big fella napoli at chf, devine and davis also provide and will need to be shut down this week by collegians!

Ath still didnt have saunders and erceg who has undergone the lars treatment for his knee, mcpherson was targeted and responed to a cheap shot resulting in a yellow card for himself

Fair few maddo boys cramping towards the end of game- most likely the result of the bigger oval that the game was played on so that certainly didnt go unnoticed!

Well done to maddo for reaching A Grade and the B grade grand final- we are waiting for you!!

DP-I thought it was quite a scrappy affair, with Ath having 70% of the play in the 2nd half but couldnt put Maddo away. Full credit to them for hangin on and being a bit more efficient going forward.
There are no excuses from Ath but having your best defender and best midfielder out hurts with a couple of other key players not quite right either running around on 1 leg, i expect Collegians to win this week by 5 goals.

More than happy to admit i’m wrong with Maddo, provided that you are man enough to admit you were wrong with Gossy.

But you wouldn’t do that, you peanut…

Yeah he was given a red card, however the emergency umpire made a meal of it and gave it to number 11 of hammersly by mistake, instead of him. It was for elbowing. So a hammersly player was sent off instead of a maddington player which meant hammersly played a man down for a about a quarter before the idiot realised what he had done.
What made things worse, there wasnt even supposed to be an emergency umpire there. He had no authority over the game, he umpired the game before and was only there cos one of the B league umpires was sore or tight so was in waiting incase he had to fill in. Yet he was running out on the ground and gettin involved when he wasnt even suppose to be.
What a mess that day was.

So yes the card card shouldnt have been gven in the first place cos the umpire had no authority on the game to do so, but it did, and resulted in the wong team playing a man down when the score line was about 5 points. But good luck to Maddington, always good to see anyone beat collegians especially a team that has come from a lower grade.

This red card incident keeps getting worse. Smith was incorrectly sent, but was only off the ground for around five minutes and while disadvantaging Hamersley, didn’t change the result.

White was charged with attempting to strike a HC player with an elbow, but again the umpire made a meal of the report as the player he was cited for trying to strike was sitting on the bench at the time. As a result, the report was thrown out.

The attempted elbow can’t have been too bad, as no HC player remenstated in the slightest and players from both teams had no trouble flying the flag in that game. Given this didnt raise an eyebrow, it’s fair to say its probably not worth ending his season.
