Interesting to read of Polaks retirement from AFL.....pretty sure he would of been delisted from Richmond. polak states he is interested to play at a local league level in 2011. Would be very handy if EF could entice him back to Moss St......tall KP who could do a job up front or up back...still only 26.

With Hasleby retiring, Polak retiring, Griffen seeking a return to WA, EF could easliy find themselves with some ready made mature players costing only a point each....though I have no doubts Hasleby will be eagerly sought after by either WCE or Freo in a coaching capacity...whilst I can imagine SF, Subi and SD pulling out all stops trying to entice Polak to their respective clubs....should be an interesting summer!

Not sure if he wants to continue playing footy I’m afraid. He seems pretty worried about doing any serious damage.

.............in the blue and white forward line.

I’m sure the club would be doing everything possible to get him home and back at the club especially given we are keen for a tall forward.

Don’t believe he has been approached by any club at WAFL level as yet.

Think the odds are he will stay in Melb but that would always be tempered by the quality of the offer to bring Graham & his new wife to be,home.

I sincerely hope East Freo are organized & ready to pounce but frankly am staggered he has not been approached as yet.

considering the guy has just announced his retirement a few days ago, has stated he won’t consider any footy untill after his Perth wedding later in the year I don’t see where you are coming from Stan?....the last thing on Polaks mind is wishing to think of where he will play his footy in 2011.....

I have no doubt EF will be in touch when the time is right.......no doubt a few other clubs as well.....give the fella a chance to concentrate on something outside of footy for a change!

58, I reckon Hasleby would be keen to have at least one year of playing some more footy before entering the coaching scene.....the guy is only 29......from his efforts helping organizing that player recognition day a few years back at EF, I reckon Hase will definitely give EF first dibs!

Hope you’re right freeze.  While we’re still in it this year, it may be for only a short time.  Someone like Hase and 1 or 2 of the others mentioned may take us a bit further next year.

58....full credit to EP for turning their season around, don’t forget EF were in 6th / 7th position prior to the derby and ended up 3rd.......both teams have had weeks of intensity and one team will sadly fall short next week.......I’d rather being playing EP than WP funnily enough......EF were horrible against EP last time they played......with a few fella’s like Dodd, Sphanger, Palmer, Houlihan and Stevens to come back(perhaps all 5).....Luke Foster and Liam McGuire in the mix, I reckon EF will have the options to cope with EP up back and front....just got to sort out Seal.....everytime EF play EP this fella has a birthday!

I beg to differ Freeze I would be bitterly disappointed to see Polly return ala Chick,Read etc & end up somewhere else !

The point is East Freo will have to present a well thought out & attractive offer (ie employment for both him & the mrs) to get him home,I know clubs in the east have already begun approaches & believe it is imperative that East at least make contact early & sow the seed whilst putting their offer together.

I think polak and hasleby bleed east freo i think i heard haze say one time on the news when freo had to wear red and white jumpers for the heritage round a few years back that it nearly made him throw up wearing that red and white shit. So i think there is no question who he will play for but i think his body is and cant take any more beatings i think its stumps all round for haze and poly.

Maybe he hasn’t ruled out a Go with his Brother Troy’s club either.

More likely he WILL Retire to look after himself.WAFL might have slightly less Intensity than AFL,but he is at no less a Risk of copping a Head injury which in his case is Bad news.

I have to agree with Stan - it is imperative that the club acts quickly and start the process of getting him in the blue and white jumper next year. We are very much in the need of a power forward as was evident against EP on Sunday.

I would hate to think he comes back plays for EF and gets knocked out and sustains major head trauma. Life is his priority not footy. You can still get knocked out playing WAFL and there are some very solid players going around.

Maybe get him down there as an assistant coach but I reckon he should give up any idea of playing again.
