I noticed that Newey go 2 week for forceful contact. What a joke. Both players going for the ball and because one is bigger he cops a supension. I don’t like players getting hurt but it is a contact sport.
Newey has had previous warning but NO charges. What a way to end a 150 game career.

The whole umpire/match review panel/tribunal set-up is a circus anyway. It certainly shouldn’t take anything away from Newey’s fantastic career. He was, at his best, the top ruckman in the comp and his premierships well deserved. Well done Sideshow....thanks for the great memories.

He really set the benchmark for ruckmen in the mid 2000’s. I reckon he coulda done alright in the AFL. What do others reckon? It woulda meant taking a paycut though

I dont think Luke had the dedication to make it in the AFL but a fantastic WAFL career and at his best was a match winner.

problem here is the kid suffered concussion now that’s not from contact made to the legs or torso sorry to say - previous warnings tells me he was on thin ice and was bound to cop omething here.

I like Newick but you cannot make head high contact regardless of your size.

lets all go and watch nitting classes , more contact in that than football
