West Perth V Claremont @ 11.15 am angry
Head to head:
Played 245 WP 145 CL 99 D 1
@ Steel Blue
Zip
However ....Claremont have won 102 games at Steel Blue at 56%, West Perth have won 104 games at 50.96% (?).
Last time Cl 17.9 (111) d WP 6.10 (46) up at Joondy.
West Perth sit in 4th spot with East Perth and Subiaco breathing down their necks.....so they’ll be fired up. They’ve got a game up their sleaves on 3rd placed East Freo.....so if they finish strongly they may get a home final. Claremont come off a big win against 2nd placed Swans......hopefully they didn’t celebrate too hard and are fired up to continue their strong season.
Claremont’s reserves side had a huge win, players will be pushing hard for selection ( a no-go-zone of 20km has been placed on Balla angry ) Young Murphy has to come in after his 45 plus touches. Thomson is fit and Laurie must be close.
Only Wilkes and young Neates were available from the AFL listed players against Swans....not too sure what will happen there.
It’s @ 11.15am.....full radio coverage and a full delayed telecast from 1pm on ABC TV.

I agree S and S wont work and just gives both SD and Claremont coaching staff a look at the other side. How are players used to playing at 2.05pm meant to adjust to all of a sudden playing 3hrs earlier??? at least the players can finish at 2pm and have the rest of the day off.

How about being positive about it! At least Swans are on the front foot in promotion of the game, and a step ahead of the rest of the comp, and that is echoing Bill Monaghans sentiments about the weekend.
West Perth played Claremont in the 2nd leg of the first dble header April 25th 1988 at the WACA and won by 30 points. In a similar twist to the Centenary test of 1977 im tipping WP in an upset by 30 points!

Wow cant wait for the big double header this weekend! what a great initiative by the WAFC and thanks to the SD Footy Club for putting it on. Should be 18,000 there I reckon.

Thats better mate! I actually think the WAFL is doing well since the inception of the AFL sides to keep getting 2-4000 (depending on the sides playing), considering 35000 plus go to AFL every week.
I dont know if there are many that go to AFL and also WAFL if they dont clash, but you couldnt pay me to go to AFL ahead of WAFL.
But then again im stuck in the old days (even tho im only 36), and wish it could be like it was no mobile phones, computers, relaxed atmosphere, great pub rock bands, more character in architecture, cars, clothes etc, no AIDS etc etc etc im off on a tangent now! LOL

That big one will attract at least 15 ,000 just think how many Perth fans will flood into Bassendean.

Anyway......back to the game.....Ruck and Derickx could have their work cut out for them this game....Andrews had 43 hitouts against South on Friday night......not too sure who he was up against. Salecic and Pearce had 30 plus touches so they’ll have to be watched, and the Bewicks had plenty of the ball. Chambers.....has he been out for awhile?....Any West Perth supporters out there??????? hmmm

Considering that they only beat the 7th placed side by 26pts who had half a side on the track, coming up against the league leaders, not surprising the WP crew are quite Mr T…wouldn’t surprise me if this turns very, very ugly for WP on Saturday… downer
