Having the worst season in the clubs history, you would think the coach wouldn’t want to alienate the supporters anymore than has occurred….would u?

So “we will play finals this year” and “we wont win the spoon this year”, is what YOU told the supporters John. They didnt ask, you did it YOURSELF. Now lets deflect the blame back on the supporters eh. Pity you werent asked about the statements YOU had made. Now its all about comparing with Melb and Tiges is it John. Why not North Melb or Essendon, surely those two teams would ahve been a better yardstick after last years ladder???

The thing is that no one is jumping ship at all.

The members and supporters have every right to question what the hell is going on.

Our club is not going well and having there time at the bottom for a number of reasons and not the least being John Worsfold.

He is in denial, he does not like being questioned because he does not have any answers.

He really has lost the plot, I still can’t belive the media here are not getting into him.

lot of would be if you could be coaches round this season.
Eagles first wooden spoon and the so called loyals want mutiny.
‘Spose you reckon it worked for Gillard.
Woosha’s contract runs out next year, he has certainly, in his lifetime, done enough
for the Eagles to go into his last year.
So grow balls, get some loyalty, quit your bitchin’ and wait it out.

It’s ok - he’ll walk if they don’t improve next year...shouldn’t be too hard from 16th! Although maybe he forgot there will be 17 teams next year

What arrogance is that? I can’t say i’ve seen any arrogance eminating at all. Plenty from the Cats, and Pies - and rightfully so, they are confident and there is nothing wrong with telling everyone about it.

Yes, as Unka said, he promised and didn’t deliver, so needs to cop his own fair share of the criticism.

But what is wrong with telling people to get stuffed if they aren’t happy to wait around? Unka, I’m sure you will say the same thing to the fairweather ‘supporters’ that will jump ship when the Cats decline - and that is not a dig at the Cats, every team picks up additional fans magically when they become successful.. but once they dip down, they are nowhere to be seen.

He has only said what any knowledgeable footy fan has thought before… if you don’t want to stick it out during the hard times, then we don’t want you when the good times return. If you want nothing but success, then go off and pick the popular/successful team each year, not worrying about an ongoing allegiance in lieu of supporting the winning team all the time.

Met more cats fans the last 5 years than in WA than i ever did in melb Wellsy! So yeah yer right.
I suppose a wee bit different is the lack of believeability of press and electronic media here at applying the blow torch to woosha, having said that Wallace got a dream run in melb, cos he was a media darling. Here i feel its because its “a westaustralian thing” , morse so than an AFL coach.
Also becasuse of the success you guys have had, many fans, not all, have been taken in by the spin, whereas real footy obserevers saw the writing on the wall from say 2008 on wards

Shark the media in Perth and especially the football reporters would not dare critisize strongly or openly defy the West Coast for fear of losing access to there players and the coaches.

Look what they did to Mainy when he hinted at what was coming.

Langdon, Jakovich and Barich would no longer be useful to there media outlets if they were suddenly cut off from the club.

We are in a little town and you cannot blame them for that. Hardie is in Melbourne and doesn’t need the West Coast or Freo to like him as his job doesn’t depend on it so he says what he wants and thats good for 6pr.

Its how it is and forever will be the same.

My opinion anyway

I’ve been off the footy scene for a little while and will be for a while yet.  One thing remains constant though wellsy, you and I should be right for a full membership as soon as the fair weather Eagles supporters have the balls to hand in their tickets and join a club that will give them a 12 month woody.  Hope they do, because no club wants “ersatz” supporters.

Mate im not even on the waiting list and won’t be until a new stadium is announced. Just can’t fathom actually getting to the front of that que.

But yes, if someone were to sell me their membership for the year I would happily swipe their barcode at each home game.

Still, the only people i’ve met who have actually handed in their memberships is my nana, and that was because of health reasons. A lot of people have threatended to hand it in on here and elsewhere (if they don’t sack Woosha, if they don’t drop Swift etc etc) - I would love to see them post a scanned copy of the cancellation from WCE. Won’t hold my breath.

I understand why people get angry but the comments get stretched a bit far at times.
