The rivalry between WP and EP has overshadowed the Freo derby i think in the past 5 or 6 years and i think each clubs (WP and EP) fans hate each other genuinely, whereas Sth and EF have begrudging respect.
I have been to a few Perth and freo derbies in the past 10 years because generally they are stand alone games or havnt clashed with Swans, and i reckon the hostlities on the field and off the field in the Perth ones shade the freo ones. Probably wouldnt have helped EF being poor the majority of the decade, a bit like Carlton in the Coll/Carlt rivalry.
If we had of had a bye this week i would have gone to Leederville regardless of TV but last week i watched the freo one on TV.
Both great rivalries though.
I dont know about EF and SF having begrudging respect SwanDog. Some of the things I heard comming out of the Shark Pit towards the SF players etc were pretty vicious. Even a couple of the EF guys were a bit embarrassed by the comments by one supporter towards Murphy. I admit it is only the odd couple who go over the top and the same can be said for EP/WP supporters. In the majority EP/WP supporters are just lovers of the WAFL and the rivalry between the 2 clubs.
Good to see and good for the WAFL. Without that we would have a pretty tame competition.
Looking forward to todays game and may the best team win.
It is going to be a great ride and hopefully WP can get over the line against a team who has their season to play for. EP have come good at the right time of the season and are HOT. That is my main concern but WP have almost got our team back to full strength so the game is pretty even.

p.s I find it strange that the EP thread hasnt had a post for 8 days? Have they given up already?
I think EP actually has a chat page on their Website so maybe they just like to talk to each other?
If EP win today we will see a resurgence of the SNIPERS for sure…
